A late night vehicle repossession turned dangerous when the owner fired a handgun as the vehicle was being hooked up for repossession.
According to court documents filed with the Northwest Judicial District, Adam Kukuk, 38, of New Town, was arrested on February 20, after the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office and tribal police responded to a 911 call of a disturbance in the 9700 block of County Road 6, in vicinity to the junction with North Dakota Highway 23.
As the vehicle was being loaded onto the tow truck Kukuk stated that he felt threatened and fired a single shot from a handgun.
The tow operator heard the shot, turned to look, and observed Kukuk holding a gun.
