Traffic Stop in McKenzie County Leads to Methamphetamine Arrest, Distribution Charge
A traffic stop in McKenzie County led to the arrest of a 44 year-old man on multiple drug-related charges, including possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to court documents.

Curt Bachmeier was arrested March 24, following a traffic stop conducted by a McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the 12000 block of 26F Street Northwest on the eastern outskirts of Watford City.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, the deputy observed a black Jeep traveling westbound at what appeared to be a high rate of speed-estimated at nearly 50 miles per hour in a posted 35 mph zone. The driver was also not wearing a seatbelt, prompting the stop near the intersection of 123rd Avenue Northwest and 26F Street Northwest.

Upon making contact, the deputy reported observing “abnormal behavior” from both Bachmeier and a female passenger, identified as Madison Younger, including signs of nervousness and heightened anxiety.
