Get your totes out! According to a recent press release from the city of Williston, retail giant Target has confirmed its new location at 3022 Dakota Drive in Williston, positioning it as a cornerstone of the ambitious Williston Square development. The 800-acre redevelopment of the former Sloulin Field International Airport aims to create a “live, work, play” hub. Situated just west of the already popular venues of Slim Chickens, Genesis, Taco Bell, and 7 Brew, the store’s placement will add a crown jewel to the center.
Williston leaders are celebrating the announcement. Mayor Howard Klug praised the effort to secure the retailer, noting that the development of Williston Square is like a “giant puzzle” being pieced together. “It all started with local business,” Klug said. “And now [we have] a major anchor that will attract other retailers.” “The arrival of a major retailer signals confidence in Williston’s economy and strengthens our position as a hub for commerce,” said City Commissioner and mayoral candidate Tori Siemieniewski. “It is a clear sign that our community is thriving and ready for the future.” Economic Development Director Anna Nelson called the move a “milestone,” stating, “We are excited to see this boost traffic across the city and the region...and to see Target become a great neighbor here in Williston.”
