Two enrolled members of the MHA Nation have formally requested access to a wide range of tribal financial records, citing constitutional transparency requirements and concerns over public accountability.

In a letter dated April 23, 2026, addressed to MHA Nation Chairman Mark Fox, Treasurer Mervin Packineau, and Chief Financial Officer Whitney Bell, enrolled members Darvin David Williams and Steven A. Kelly requested inspection of several categories of financial documents maintained by the Tribe.

The request states the members are seeking the records “in good faith and for the legitimate purpose of enabling meaningful review of the Tribe’s financial stewardship and informing the membership concerning matters of public concern.”
