Mercaptan causes propane scare by CR30

Last week the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received multiple calls from concerned citizens who believed they were smelling the odor of propane on CR30 near U.S. Highway 85.
A Facebook post made by MCSO read, “Over the past few days deputies have taken reports of a propane odor/potential leak in the area of County Road 30 (23rd Street Northwest) and U.S. Highway 85. Deputies along with members of the Watford City Fire Department have responded to the area several times and have not been able to locate the source of the odor.”
