It is Homecoming Week at Watford City High School and on Friday the school will be crowning its 2025 Homecoming royalty from the 10 seniors selected to this year’s court.
While the schools are buzzing with a variety of special activities including dress-up days, talent show, boys volleyball, powderpuff game, and candidate feud all designed to generate more Wolves’ spirit, the week-long celebration will conclude on Friday with a coronation of this year’s Homecoming royalty, a parade and a football game.
The Homecoming Parade will begin at 4 p.m. and will start on Watford City’s Main Street and run to the McKenzie County Hospital.
The crowing of the 2025 Homecoming king and queen will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Watford City High School Theater.
Homecoming activities will conclude on Friday when the Wolves football team takes on the Grand Forks Knights at 7 p.m. at Fridley Field.
Each candidate is selected not only with input from the student body, but through evaluation of their work as a student and their contributions to their community as a whole.
This year there are five candidates for Homecoming King and five candidates for Homecoming Queen that make up the WCHS Homecoming Court. Each candidate was asked to answer some questions to help others get to know them better.
Corban Sorenson is the son of Paul and Dez Sorenson. He has been involved in FFA, football, prom, wrestling, golf, student council, National Honor Society and range judging.
Corban believes he is a good candidate for Homecoming King because he is a good leader and role model. He also loves participating in anything to do with school spirit and Homecoming.
