McKenzie County takes inventory of county roadways

For years the subject of road jurisdiction has been a discussion for McKenzie County officials as well as property owners and the energy sector. In an effort to come to a consensus on which roads are county roads, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) requested an inventory of roadways be done at their meeting on Dec. 21, 2021, and again in January 2022.
For months, the County Road and Bridge Department has been working to identify which roads are county roads. It is the responsibility of the county to maintain and monitor county roads, as well as ensure that regulations like load restrictions are being followed.
