McKenzie County Public School District sees record enrollment

In the height of the oil boom, school enrollment numbers skyrocketed at McKenzie County Public School District No.1 (MCPSD). So when oil plummeted in 2020, people thought school enrollment numbers would do the same. But it did not.
According to McKenzie County Public School District Superintendent Steve Holen, school enrollment numbers are at a record high of 1,988 students in K-12.
“The highest enrollment of the school district to this point would be just under 1,900 students in the fall of 2019,” Holen says.
