Local elections taking place from the municipal to county levels, and school board to judgeships are light on candidates announcing their intent to see office so far.
As of February 16, there are only five names officially known that are seeking four elected offices.
McKenzie County Auditor. Incumbent Erica Johnsrud has filed with the North Dakota Secretary of State to seek reelection. Judge Robin Schmidt has also filed.
So far, both are unchallenged.
For McKenzie County Sheriff, confirmed by their social media pages, current Sheriff Matthew Johansen is seeking a third four-year term while former deputy sheriff and current Watford City Police sergeant, John Hance is seeking to take the job.
At the city level, current Arnegard City Council president Richard (Rick) Schreiber intends to seek the mayor position.
