Local businessmen honored by the Small Business Development Center

Gene Veeder and Brent Schwan, both of Watford City, were recognized at the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Williston Economic Development annual awards banquet for their contributions to the quality of life and business community.
Veeder is a third generation rancher who served on the McKenzie County Board of Commissioners from 2016 to 2020. From 1996 to 2016, he served as the executive director of the McKenzie County Job Development Authority (JDA). He continues to serve as a board member of the JDA Board to this day.
SBDC Williston Center Director Keith Olson, presented Veeder with the 2023 SBDC Champion of the Year Award, attributing his love for community and service to Veeder’s success.
