The McKenzie County Ag Expo was filled with the rumble of engines and the cheers of spectators Saturday, Jan. 24, as riders from across the region competed in an indoor Arenacross event.
Approximately 550 fans filled the McKenzie County Ag Expo to watch about 350 motocross riders ranging in age from three to their 60s, race across a dirt track built with jumps, turns and technical features.
The event featured 29 races throughout the day, with divisions spanning 50cc, 65cc and 85cc bikes, along with larger classes.
The race course was designed and constructed by 4Gmx of Rapid City, S.D., a company known for its emphasis on safety and professional course design, according to Kylee Roff, assistant director of the McKenzie County Ag Expo.
“As an indoor facility, we’re able to provide a climate-controlled and ventilated environment that allows racers to compete during what would otherwise be their off-season,” Roff said.
