If you’ve been hoping to have a free chance to get tested for the coronavirus (COVID-19), the opportunity awaits you as a free drive-up testing will be held in the parking lot of the McKenzie County Public School District No. 1 Bus Transportation Center in Watford City from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
The free drive-up testing is being made possible thanks to collective efforts of five different community organizations and establishments.
“Events like the one our community is putting on Aug. 29, are designed to capture the overflow the static testing was unable to reach, as well as in response to larger scale exposures or outbreaks in the surrounding area,” says Michael Curtis, McKenzie County Healthcare Systems, Inc. chief administrative officer.
This will be the second time a free drive-up testing has been offered in  Watford City, Curtis says.
“The last mass testing the hospital and state put on tested over 160 people with four positive cases,” Curtis says.
With 10 active cases currently in McKenzie County, Curtis says there’s been a total of 100 positive cases for McKenzie County thus far.
