Benefit raises $4K for local woman battling brain cancer

A good reason to eat can be a good way to raise money, so on Feb. 6, a spaghetti feed at the Watford City Civic Center was the place to be as community members gathered on behalf of Devin Cleburne, a local resident and manager of Pizza Pie on the Fly.
Cleburne recently returned to Watford City after receiving treatment through the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for a brain tumor diagnosed as Glioblastoma in late 2022.
“It went great. We raised about $4,000,” says Ryan Seigfreid, owner of Pizza Pie on the Fly. “I think we exceeded our goal and it was nice to see all the people get together.”
Seigfreid felt compelled to find a creative way to put some extra cash in Cleburne’s pockets after learning that his employee of nine years was returning home after treatment.
