On April 16, Chief Matt Clark of the Williston Fire Department presented a proposal to the McKenzie County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to have McKenzie County join a partnership with emergency response teams based in Williston to ensure the future emergency response needs of the northern portions of the county are met.
The proposal submitted to the BOCC members said, “The Williston Fire Department (WFD) seeks to create an annual capital sustainment program and partnership with McKenzie County to support emergency responses and community needs. The WFD provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Special Operations (hazmat and technical rescue) to the residents of McKenzie County. The sustainment program will provide dedicated funding to aid in the replacement of capital assets used to support these efforts.”
