A three-vehicle accident involving two pickups and a semi on Monday, Aug. 24, has claimed the life of a 25-year-old Dickinson man. The accident occurred at 7:19 a.m. at mile marker 108 on U.S. Highway 85 near Grassy Butte.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Chase Barnedt, 25, of Dickinson was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 85 in a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup when he crossed the centerline and struck the side of a southbound 2017 Kenworth hauling an oversize load. The semi was  being driven by Rudolph Still, 48, of Westminster, S.C.
After striking Still’s load, Barnedt’s vehicle spun out into the west ditch where it came to rest.
A second pickup, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Amanda Young, 40, of Watford City, was traveling southbound behind Still. Young’s vehicle was struck by flying debris.
