I have a hard time envisioning our founding fathers imagining an America where the government is a cheerleader for electric vehicles (EV’s) as a tool to “save the planet.” Common sense is challenging to find among the climate change zealots but their constant effort to jam EV’s down our throats is the worst of the worst charade.
A new study done by The Texas Public Policy Foundation entitled “Overcharged Expectations: Unmasking the True Costs of Electric Vehicles” is big news in my book. Most of the media fawns over EV’s as some sort of elixir for climate change. Never mind that materials for making the batteries that power the vehicles have to be mined and imported from other counties. The extraction methods for lithium and cobalt are very energy intensive and often done with forced labor, child labor, and environmental destruction. But the sticker shock is the bombshell news.
