PATRICE'S PERSPECTIVE

As the years pass by, I have noticed that I am more curious now, then I was when I was a kid. I don’t think that I was very inquisitive as a child, I just sort of accepted the world around me without asking why, or when did things begin.
For example, I was today years old when I learned that the famous New Year’s Eve Ball in New York made its maiden descent from the flagpole atop One Times Square in 1907. Or that celebrating the new year has been a ritual since 2000 BC!?!
Just last week I learned that no matter how many times I yell at the weather guy on the television, the forecast will not change to my liking when there’s a huge winter storm strolling across the midwest.
Somewhere in the stream of life I stopped just accepting life as it was and decided that I knew better than...
