The Biden administration, along with Democrats in Washington, D.C., have a very strange approach to dealing with inflation. At a time when Americans are being told to quit spending money in order to bring inflation under control, the Democrats are spending taxpayer dollars like a bunch of drunken sailors.
It is a classic case of “do as we say,” not “do what we do.”
As a result of the COVID pandemic, our government infused over $6 trillion into programs, many of which were needed to keep businesses open and for unemployment benefits for workers who lost their jobs when businesses were forced to lay off staff. But much of those trillions of dollars were simply money poorly spent.
It was then that the Democrats realized that they could unleash the printing presses to produce money to fund more and more programs without giving any consideration to the impact that the infusion of those new dollars would have on the economy.
