Wrestlers down New Town, fall to Carrington

Watford City’s varsity wrestling team split in dual action this past week as the Wolves defeated New Town 60-18 on Dec. 8 before falling to Carrington 58-19 on Dec. 12.
The Wolves picked up three pins and six forfeits against the Eagles in the win. Earning pins for Watford City were Colton Jore, 112 pounds; Karson Knudtson, 160 pounds; and Kalin Mogen, 171 pounds.
Against Carrington, Cody Fisketjon, 189 pounds, won by a pin, while Brady Lund, 135 pounds, and Kalin Mogen, 160 pounds, won decisions over their opponents.
This week, the Wolves will be traveling to Killdeer on Thursday, Dec. 17 before closing out this week’s schedule at the Dickinson Tournament.
