Their last trip to the State Class B Girls Softball Tournament didn’t go quite as well as the Wolves would have hoped as Watford City didn’t win a game en route to an eighth place finish.
Because of rising school enrollment, 2018 was the last year the Wolves will be competing at the Class B level and will be moving to the Class A level next year. But still Watford City can be proud of the fact that they have made it to State for six straight years.
Watford City made its first trip to the state tournament in 2013, the first year that the Wolves had a girls high school softball team, where they finished in eighth place. The Wolves would take eighth place in their return trips to State in 2014 and 2015 before taking fifth place in 2016.
In 2017, the Wolves took fourth at State.
