Wolves Baseball has two tough games

Watford City 3, St. Mary’s 1
Both teams were strong on the mound last Tuesday, but Watford City Wolves defeated St. Mary’s Central 3-1. Landon Ledahl started the game for the Wolves and recorded 21 outs.
The Wolves were the first to get on the board in the first when Paco Baldenegro singled, scoring one run.
The Wolves added one run in the second after Harper Moberg singled to center field.
Ledahl, the starting pitcher allowed six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out two and walking two. Maddux Gerving stepped on the mound first for St. Mary’s. The starter gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Brandon Spacher, Baldenegro, Moberg, Ledahl, Trysten Devries, and Brody Anders each collected one hit for the Wolves. Moberg and Isaiah Leahy each drove in one run for the Wolves. Leahy stole two bases. The Wolves ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.

Watford City 3, Legacy 13
The Watford City Wolves had trouble keeping up with Legacy in a 13-3 loss last Thursday.
The Wolves got on the board in the first inning after Josh Chavez singled, scoring one run.
The Wolves committed an error, which helped Legacy tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Legacy took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Karter Pearson tripled to center field, and Cooper Johnson grounded out, each scoring one run.
The Wolves tied the game in the top of the third thanks to an error, and a steal of home by Landon Ledahl.
Legacy made the score 7-3 in the bottom of the third after Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run, Jack Julson singled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.
Legacy scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Julson singled, scoring one run, Drew Beasley hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs, and Ryker Zietz hit a solo home run to left field.
Brandon Spacher led things off on the mound for the Wolves. The pitcher allowed four hits and seven runs (five earned) over two innings, striking out none and walking three. Gavin Brice stepped on the hill first for Legacy. He allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking two.
Harper Moberg, Josh Chavez, and Isaiah Leahy each collected one hit for the Wolves. Spacher and Chavez eachdrove in one run for the Wolves. Ledahl stole two bases. The Wolves stole five bases in the game.

In game two, Legacy got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jack Julson homered to left field, Karter Pearson walked, Brady Wike walked, and Legacy scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Legacy added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Issac Lewis singled to center field, and Lewis stole home, each scoring one run.
Legacy added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Wike grounded out, Harrison Johnson doubled, the Wolves committed an error, and Jaden Eslinger doubled to center field, each scoring one run.
Brandon Spacher pitched three innings in relief for the Wolves. The reliever gave up five hits and five runs (three earned) while, striking out four and walking one. Trysten Devries started on the mound for the Wolves. The starter surrendered one hit and five runs over one inning, striking out one and walking four. Ryker Zietz began the game for Legacy. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over four and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Hunter Cowan went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Braylen Tolbert led the Wolves with two hits in two at bats.
