The 10-ranked Watford City baseball team battled, but fell to seventh ranked Century in the play-in game of the WDA Tournament on Monday, May 22.
Early defensive struggles hurt the Wolves as Century scored eight runs in the first inning.
“We had four errors in the first inning alone,” said Watford City coach Pat Spacher, “all on groundballs.”
Starting pitcher Judd Johnsrud worked the first two innings on the mound and also had a good day with the bat. Johnsrud was 2-for-3. Carter Branstrom went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Colton Hufnagel scored the only run of the game for Watford City. Jason Hogue and Tyesn Kuchenbuch each added one base hit.
