Watford qualifies six for National Finals

Six members of Watford City’s high school rodeo team qualified to go to the National Finals in Rock Springs, Wyo.
The cowboys and cowgirls qualified by finishing in the top four in their events at the State Finals in Bowman.
Samantha Jorgenson led the club, qualifying in four events. She also won the girls All Around for the year. Jorgenson finished first in cow cutting, second in breakaway roping, third in barrel racing and fourth in pole bending.
Joe Nelson qualified in two events, finishing first in team roping (heeler) and second in steer wrestling.
Sadie Kieson finished second in cow cutting, Saige Feilmeier finished fourth in cow cutting, Clay Jorgenson finished second in bareback riding, and Seth Indergard tied for third/fourth in team roping (heeler).
The National High School Finals Rodeo is billed as the world’s biggest rodeo with over 1,500 contestants. This year’s rodeo will be held in Rock Springs, Wyo, July 14-21.
