Spikers suffer first loss

After rolling over New England in three quick games last Tuesday, Watford City’s varsity girls volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season as the Wolves fell to Beulah 3-1. With the loss, the Wolves’ season record stands at 10-1.
This week, the Wolves will be on the road as they compete in the Dickinson Tournament over the weekend and then travel to Stanley on Sept. 28.
Watford City 3, New England 0
Dani Bates had seven kills while Karson Pederson had five service aces as Watford City shut out New England in three quick games last Tuesday by scores of 25-13, 25-8 and 25-18.
The Wolves had 10 service aces and 31 kills in the match.

Beulah 3, Watford City 1
In a hard-fought game that saw several extended rallies, Beulah edged Watford City 3-1 last Thursday evening.
Beulah took the first game 25-21 before the Wolves took the second game 25-18. Beulah then took the next two games 25-22 and 25-20.
Charlie Hystad had 12 kills for the Wolves, while Dani Bates had six service aces.
