Spikers pick up two more victories

Watford City picked up two big wins this past week as the Wolves’ varsity volleyball team defeated Trinity Christian and Trenton.
But on Saturday, the Wolves did not fare as well at the Beach Tournament. Watford City was eliminated from the championship round after defeating Grant County in two games by scores of 20-17 and 20-17 and then splitting games with Scranton, Heart River and Wibaux and losing two games to Killdeer,
This week, the Wolves will travel to Divide County on Oct. 15 before hosting Dickinson Trinity on Monday, Oct. 19.

Watford City 3, Trinity Christian 1
Marti Quale had five service aces,  17 assists and 14 digs, while Dani Bates had nine kills to help lead Watford City to victory over Trinity Christian in varsity volleyball action on Oct. 5. The Wolves took the first game by a score of 25-21 before calling to the Crusaders 25-19 in the second game. But the Wolves pulled together to edge Trinity Christian by scores of 26-24 in the next two games to earn the win.

Watford City 3, Trenton 1
Even though Watford City struggled to get their services into play, the Wolves defeated the Trenton Tigers 3-1 in varsity volleyball action on Oct. 8.
Marti Quale led the Wolves with five service aces while Dani Bates had 11 kills and Marti Quale had 11 assists in the match.
The Wolves took the first two games by scores of 25-18 and 25-19 before dropping the third game to the Tigers 26-24. The Wolves then came back to take the fourth game by a score of 25-14.
