Hazen defeats Wolves in season opener

Watford City started their season last Saturday at the Rough Rider Center’s first annual Border Battle. Hazen defeated the Wolves 73-44 in the matchup.

Hazen’s Tyson Wick stole the show as he racked up 14 points in the first quarter and 22 points by halftime. “Wick doesn’t force the issue,” observed Watford City Head Coach, David Gumke. “He takes what the defense gives him, and we gave him a lot. He is very fundamentally sound. You can tell that he is a coach’s kid, because he does all of the little things. Even though he can take over a game, he still is doing a good job of keeping his teammates involved. He definitely helps his teammates fill their role.”
