Comets’ cage season ends at District 15

The Alexander boys basketball season came to a close on Saturday as the Comets fell to the North Shore-Plaza Wildcats, 65-48, in loser-out action of the District 15 Tournament.
The Comets fell to Parshall, 76-47, in opening round action of the tournament on Friday to drop into the consolation bracket.
Alexander stayed close to the Wildcats in the first few minutes of Saturday’s game as the Comets trailed North Shore-Plaza, 18-13, at the end of the first quarter.
But Alexander was no match for the Wildcats as North Shore-Plaza built a 15-point lead, 41-26, at halftime. The Wildcats led the Comets, 57-33, after three quarters of play en route to the win.
Jacquan Morgan led the Comets in scoring with 21 points, while Nick Armour and Garrett Thorgramson netted eight points each in the losing effort.
Rounding out the scoring for Alexander was Isaac Sitzman with four points, Jack Heen with three points, while Dayden Rafferty and Alejandro Constantino ended the game with two points each.
