Boys pick up first cage win

Watford City’s varsity boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Saturday as the Wolves knocked off Bowman County, 82-53.
The Wolves, who are now 1-5 on the season, look to keep their winning streak alive as they host Tioga on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Four Watford City players scored in double figures as the Wolves notched their first win of season on Saturday with an 82-53 win over Bowman County.
Behind strong, outside shooting that saw the Wolves sink 13 three-pointers, as well as a solid inside game, the Wolves used a balanced scoring attack to earn the win.
Logan Fettig led both teams in scoring as he netted 18 points for the Wolves, while David Kline followed with 17 points. Also scoring in double figures for Watford City was Cameron Runnels and Cole McGorman with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Watford City led the Bulldogs, 23-16, at the end of the first quarter of play before posting an 11-point, 41-30, advantage at halftime.
The Wolves continued to build on their lead in the second half as they outscored Bowman County, 25-15 in the third quarter before coasting to the easy win.
Rounding out the scoring for Watford City was Seth Indergard with six points, Charlie Villanueva with five points, Dane Dixon with three points, while Korbin Knutson and Bo Cook ended the game with two points each.
The Wolves were good on five of six attempts at the free-throw line.
