William Wheeler

Funeral service for William Joe Wheeler, 98, of Watford City, N.D., was at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec.1, 2012, at the Cross Point Wesleyan Church in Watford City, with Pastor Adrian Timmons officiating. Interment was at the Johnson Corners Cemetery, Watford City, under the direction of the Fulkerson Funeral Home, of Watford City. William Joe Wheeler was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Berg, N.D., to William and Essie (Arnold) Wheeler.
 Better known as ''Joe," he attended Oak Springs rural school through the eighth grade, which was about a mile from his home. In his younger years, Joe worked for his dad on the farm raising cattle and farming. He also liked working with horses.
In April 1946, Joe married Doris Olson at Johnson Corners Wesleyan Church. They spent their entire married life on the home place.
In 2002, Joe moved off the farm and moved into the Good Shepherd Home Manor. He was there until 2006, when he moved into the Good Shepherd Nursing Home where he passed away on Nov. 27, 2012.
Joe is survived by his sister, Connie Bruins, of Watford City and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; eight sisters, Helen, Marian, Grace, Francis, Edna, Stella, Ana, and Eunice; and one brother, Leslie ''Sam'' Wheeler.
