Wayne Warnke

I was 62 years old and died at Sanford Health on Jan. 26, 2014 due to complications of Influenza A.
My Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mandan with the Rev. Mark Drew as officiant. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church before my service.
I will be buried in the Highland Cemetery south of Alexander, N.D., on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. I was born on July 2, 1951 in Williston, N.D. I am the son of Earl and Gladys Warnke.
I was raised and educated on a farm 10 miles south of Alexander. I attended and graduated in 1970 from Alexander High School. After graduating, I worked various jobs. On Oct. 21, 1972, I married Marlene Rhodes. We lived in Sidney, Mont., where I worked for Pacific Hide and Fur.
In June of 1973, we moved to Lambert, Mont. I worked for the Theissen Angus Ranch until moving to Watford City in February of 1979. I worked for NL Well Service and then Pool Well Service. I became a Tool Pusher and Safety Inspector. I worked at this job for seven years. The oil field bust came in 1986 and I took a layoff.
I then farmed for the next three years. I also cut scrap iron for John Roach in Watford City. In April of 1989, I started working for the City of Watford City. I worked there until April of 1992. We then moved to Livingston, Mont. I was employed by the City of Livingston. I was grounds keeper at the Mountain View Cemetery. I did maintenance work on various homes in Livingston.
In Aug. of 1995, we moved to Mandan, N.D. In September of 1995 I started working for Capital City Roof and Floor Truss Company. In 2002, they changed to Advanced Truss Company. I worked there until my death. We bought a home in Bismarck in January of 2003 and have lived there since.
I have been married to wife, Marlene for 41 years. We have four children; James of Hermanston, Ore.; Laura (Gary) Weakes of Princeton, Texas; Ann (Doug) Vogel of Fargo, N.D.; and Sgt. Andrew (Tauni) of Box Springs, Ga. We have 13 Grandchildren. I have three sisters; Susan (Roland) Olson, Williston, N.D.; Annette (Dirk) Oved, Williston, N.D.; and Cheryl (Bill) Unger, Mandan, N.D. I also have several nieces and nephews.
I was preceded in death by my Father and Mother, Earl and Gladys Warnke.
