Roger Trout

Roger Trout was taken home by our Lord on Nov. 17, 2020.
Roger was born Sept. 16, 1941, in Watford City, N.D., to Zena and Fred Trout. He attended school in Watford City. He had various short-term jobs including working with his father installing culverts and building small bridges. He also worked for various farmers doing several jobs. At home, he would often cut firewood and his favorite job was helping his mother tend the huge family garden. He would plow, reseed and help with the canning. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers.
Roger had been in ill health for several years prior to his death. He had been living at the Good Shepherd Home since 2014.
Roger is preceded in death by his sisters, Rose, Merle, Violet and Lilly; brothers, Joseph and Victor Stashuk and Joey Trout; his parents, Zena and Fred Trout.
He is survived by his brothers, Frank, Lawrence and Larry; and his sister, Agnes Murray.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Good Shepherd Home, social worker Sara Skarda, Mountrail McKenzie Human Service Zone’s Sadie and Dez, hospital staff and Dr. Mundorf for their exemplary care of Roger, and Pastor Garret Gudmundson for blessing his casket.
Burial has taken place in Grassy Butte Cemetery in Grassy Butte, N.D.
