Neil W. Johnsrud, age 92, passed away in Lynnwood, Wash. on Feb. 5, 2015.
He was born in Watford City, N.D., on Aug. 12, 1922, to Hilmar and Sofie (Hagen) Johnsrud. The Johnsrud family was quite large and consisted of 11 siblings: Carl, Harold, Herman, Lowe, Oscar, Alga, Margaret, Ester, Ella, Helen, and Mavis.
Neil was a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a lifetime member of the VFW-Edmonds Chapter.
Neil farmed and worked cattle and oil wells during his time in North Dakota, and eventually moved to the Puget Sound area where he was a machinist with Boeing for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris (Zingleman) Johnsrud, and three children; Ron, Becky and Roberta, nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends.
A Graveside Service was held Tuesday, Feb 10, 2015, at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett, Wash.
