Mae Hermanson- Brockmier

Mae Alma (Tofte) Hermanson Brockmier, 92, of Williston, passed away peacefully at her home, under the care of hospice, early Tuesday morning, Aug. 14, 2018.
Mae Tofte was born to Amund and Margaret (Bleken) Tofte in Williston, N.D., on October 24, 1925. She was raised and educated in Williams County and graduated from Williston High School in 1943.
In 1944 Mae was married to Carl Hermanson they were married for 32 years before divorcing in 1976. In 1982 Mae married Lyle Brockmier. They were united in marriage for 24 years before Lyle’s death in 2007.
Mae worked as a telephone operator as well as a cook at the Alexander School. She also worked at the museum and store in Alexander. Her biggest job was housewife and raising nine children, and assisting with the grandchildren.
Mae was active in the Senior Citizens, and the ELCAW (Ladies Aid).  She enjoyed embroidery, craft work and singing with the “Over the Hill” gang.
Surviving Mae are her children, Ardin (Mary Kaye) Hermanson, Brighton, Colo., Marsha (Tim) Ablemann, Alexander, N.D., Tim (Beth) Hermanson, Lake Park, Minn., Mary (Ed) Rettig, Alexander, N.D., Conlie (Sigrid) Hermanson, Watford City, N.D., Mark (Megg) Hermanson, Alexander area, Ned Hermanson, Brodus, Mont., Todd (Tammy) Hermanson, Sidney, Mont.; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; 4 step-children; and very special friend, Leola Hermanson.
Preceding Mae in death were her parents, Amund and Margaret; husband, Lyle; first husband, Carl; daughter, Tamy (Hermanson) Rockeman; and brother, Ivan Tofte; sister-in-law, Elaine Tofte; grandson, Neal Hermanson.
Her Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Williston. Rev. Brian Knutson officiated. Interment in Riverview Cemetery followed the funeral service.
