Jerome Kummer

A graveside service for Jerome Kummer, 70, of Culbertson, Mont., was held at 10:00 a.m. MDT, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.fulkersons.com.
Jerome was born on June 11, 1940, in Keene, N.D., to parents Louie and Lillian (Veysey) Kummer. He attended area rural schools and helped on the family farm.
Jerome worked for many area farms and ranches before starting work in the oilfield. On Oct. 23, 1964, he was united in marriage to Darlene Saemann. After their marriage, they lived and followed work in the oilfield throughout Montana, finally making their home in Culbertson. Jerome continued to work in the oilfield, and later worked for area farms and ranches. Following the death of his wife on March 5, 2008, he continued to make his home in Culbertson.
Jerome enjoyed watching and visiting with the neighborhood children. He loved to carve and whittle on wood. As a young man he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Jerome died on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at his home in Culbertson.
Survivors include: his daughter, Sharlene Kummer, Billings, Mont.; a grandson, Kyle Lawler; five brothers, David (LaVetta) Kummer, Watford City, N.D., Kenneth (Kathy) Kummer, Keene, Douglas Kummer, Watford City, Mike (Betty) Kummer,  Watford City, and Miles Kummer, Watford City; seven sisters, Fern Snell, Chokio, Minn., Shirley Norby, Charlson, N.D., Lorraine Walton, Lovington, N.M., Gladys (Jim) Gregory, Midland, Texas, Loretta Anderson, Watford City, Linda (Jerry) Wilson, Tacoma, Wash., Debbie (Randy) Running, Beulah, N.D., and Donna (Kelly) Berg, Keene.
Jerome was preceded in death by his wife, a sister, and two brothers.
