Jeffre Leatherberry

Jeffre Scott Leatherberry, 57, of Leander, TX, passed away on Dec. 23, 2014 after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born Feb. 13, 1957 in Hettinger, ND, to Ormand and Gloria (Swanson) Leatherberry.
Jeff graduated from Watford City High School in 1975 where he was active in sports (wearing his red high-top basketball shoes). He attended UND before moving to Texas in 1978, first working in restaurant management, and then finding his calling in truck driving for the oilfield industry.
Jeff was married to his wife and best friend, Sylvia, for 32 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He truly never met a stranger and his passion for motorcycles led Jeff and Sylvia all across the country. He had a love and respect of the open road that he instilled in his family.
He was loved for his smile, his laugh, and his generous heart. His quick wit endeared him to all who met him and he will be dearly and deeply missed.
Jeff is survived by his wife; daughters, LexAnne (Jose) Ratcliffe, Chino Hills, Calif., and Megan (Abel) Sanchez, Leander, Texas; mother, Gloria Leatherberry, Watford City; his grandchildren, Robert, Valerie, Natalie, Eric, Yolanda, Abigail, and Marissa;  sisters, Kristel Rienzi, Lindenwold, N.J., and Celeste (David) Berg, Watford City; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ormand Leatherberry; and brother-in-law, James Rienzi.
A memorial service celebrating Jeff’s life will be held Jan. 10, 2015 at Hill Country Bible Church, Leander, Texas.
