Franklin Frisinger
Franklin LeRoy Frisinger, 78, of Guyman, OK, formerly of Watford City, N.D., died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Dunaway Assisted Living at Guymon, Okla.
His funeral service was held Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Watford City, N.D. Pastor Rob Favorite will officiated and interment was held in the family lot at the Schafer Cemetery, Watford City, N.D.
Franklin was born on May 22, 1935, on the family farm in McKenzie County, N.D., the son of Frank and Bessie (Lester) Frisinger. He was raised on the farm and went to grade school at the Koeser School and Rocky Glen School. After his father passed away, he spent many years on the farm helping his mother and younger brothers.
Later, he went to Columbus, N.D., and worked for different ranchers. He moved to Tioga, N.D., to work in the oil field as a Hot Oil truck operator, then to Wyoming and later to Guymon, Okla., where he made his home for many years.
In Guymon, Franklin owned and operated a hot oil truck and hobby farm. He raised goats, sheep, cattle, peacocks and chickens and sold eggs to friends and acquaintances. His cattle were his joy, and he would call them with the word “Bossie” and they would come running to him. Franklin enjoyed going to cattle sales to buy and sell cattle and visit with friends. He also enjoyed coming to North Dakota for family reunions.
Franklin’s special pet was a dog, “Queeny” whom he loved. Queeny missed her master when he entered the nursing home in December 2013.
Franklin is survived by three sisters; Virginia (Don) Lund of Watford City, N.D., Lillian Rinck of Marne, Mich., and Eva Olson of Tioga, N.D., two brothers; Russell (Audrey) Frisinger of Williston, N.D., and Dennis (Lucy) Frisinger of Watford City, N.D., along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Elizabeth; sister, Lottie Rolla; brothers-in-law, Robert Rinck, Carroll Olson and Garvey Rolla.
