David Blotsky

David J. Blotsky, 57, of Williston, N.D., formerly of McIntosh, S.D., passed away Friday morning, April 18, 2014, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston.
His funeral was celebrated Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Everson Memorial Chapel in Williston. Cremation followed the service. The committal service of the cremated remains took place on Saturday, April 26, 2014, in the St. Bonaventure’s Cemetery in McIntosh, S.D.
David was born Sept. 7, 1956 to Mary A (Bullinger) and Peter J. Blotsky in McLaughlin, S.D.
He grew up in McIntosh and attended school there graduating with the Class of 1974. After graduation, Dave began working at the McIntosh Co-op Gas Station until 1982.  He then moved to Watford City, N.D., where he traveled to Fairview, Mont., and worked for DOF Casing Co. for eight years.
Then in 1990 he moved to Williston, N.D., and worked for OK Tire/Conoco until 1999.  He then started working for Wisco as a roustabout and worked his way on up to Troubleshooter Foreman. If you asked Dave, his job title, he would answer, “I swing a heavy hammer.” He was not a boastful man, just a common man.
Dave was single, but treated every woman, mother, child and male with dignity and respect.  He enjoyed teasing and telling one joke after another.  Dave was the strongest man we knew and we are so proud of the way he looked at life and his private battle with cancer.  He taught us all much about life; to let the past go and live in the present, to never give up, (fall down seven times, stand up eight), how to cherish every moment you’ve had with someone you love or care for.
Dave’s favorite past-time was spending time with his daughter, Chantel, family and friends, fixing puzzles, doing crosswords and watching Nascar racing. You never called Dave during a Nascar race.
Dave is survived by his loving daughter, Chantel of Billings, Mont.; four brothers, Charlie (Marla) of Sturgis, S.D., Gerald of Bismarck, N.D., Bill (Pat) of Vale, S.D. and Jeff of Deadwood, S.D.; sisters, Irene Bachmeier of Rapid City, S.D., Marlene (Henry) Jaszkowiak of Bismarck, N.D., Darlene (Don) Sieler of Sioux Falls, S.D., Betty (Al) Kraft of New Salem, N.D., Clara (Richard) Goodmanson of Lemmon, S.D., Vernetta (Jake) Kraft of Belle Fourche, S.D., Annette (Curt) Gehring of McIntosh, S.D. and Cecelia (Blaine) Tishmack of Mandan, N.D.; one sister-in-law, Georgia of Fargo, N.D.; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Mary Blotsky; brothers, Ron, Melvin and Leo.
