Brian Simonson

Brian Dale Simonson, son of Greg and Betty (Rowe) Simonson, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital in Spearfish, S.D.
He was born in Bottineau, N.D. on September 15, 1967. He grew up in North Dakota with his parents and brothers, living in Garrison, Dawson, and Alexander, N.D., where he graduated High School in 1986.
While in high school, Brian was very active in football, track, basketball, and band. Following his graduation, Brian moved to Williston, N.D. where he met and married the love of his life, Renee’ Evitt. They were united in marriage on December 30, 1988. They enjoyed 26 years of marriage together.
Brian and Renee have five beautiful children, whom they raised in Alexander and New Salem, N.D. In 2005 they settled down in Faith, S.D., at the Evitt Ranch. Brian enjoyed living and working at the ranch where he could teach his boys how to hunt, work, and enjoy the outdoors. He was a NASCAR fan and had the opportunity to attend a race in 2012. He was also a devoted Pittsburg Steelers fan!
Brian loved his family and always took care of them. He was a great friend to many and laughed easily. He will be greatly missed.
Brian accepted Jesus into his heart not long ago, and now is with the Lord our God, pain free.
Cherishing his memory are his wife of 26 years, Renee’ Simonson, Faith, S.D.; sons, Drake Simonson, Bismarck, N.D.,; Tait and his wife Tiffany Simonson, Vancouver, Wash.; Wyatt Simonson, Rapid City, S.D.; daughters, Jordyn Simonson, Spearfish, S.D. and Tori Simonson, Faith, S.D.; one beloved grandson, William Simonson, Vancouver, Wash.; his father, Greg Simonson, Alexander, N.D.; two brothers, Chad and his wife Michelle Simonson, Alexander, N.D. and Aaron Simonson, New Holland, Ohio; father-in-law, Russell Evitt, Williston, N.D. and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Simonson; mother-in-law, Lillian Evitt; paternal grandparents, Willard and Marion Simonson; and maternal grandparents, Harold and Ellen Rowe.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. MT on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Faith Area Memorial Chapel in Faith, S.D. A gathering of friends and family was held at 5 p.m. MT on Wednesday at the Faith Community Center in Faith.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. MT on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the Faith Community Center in Faith, S.D. with Rev. Roger Munson officiating. Burial was on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. CT at the Rawson Cemetery, near Rawson, N.D. west of Watford City, N.D.
Special music was provided by Larinda Price, pianist and Russ Evitt, soloist.
