Winter named North Dakota Stockmen’s Association Top Hand

The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) awarded McKenzie County cattleman Keith Winter the Top Hand Award at the 94th annual convention held in Watford City on Sept. 28-30.
According to the NDSA website, the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association is a cattle producer trade association that originated in Watford City in 1929. When cattlemen on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation and surrounding areas grew tired of the chronic cattle rustling plaguing their herds, a Watford City area cattleman, Andrew Johnston, decided to call a meeting to determine what could be done about it.
