The month of November was a very good month for North Dakota’s oil and gas industry as the state set yet another record for the number of producing wells, as well as seeing both oil and natural gas production increase over the previous month.
“This was the month that we were waiting for all year,” stated Lynn Helms, North Dakota Department of Minerals director during his monthly Director’s Cut on Friday, Jan. 14. “We saw oil production jump by 4.4 percent to 1,160,000 barrels per day, which is 5.4 percent above the revenue forecast. Along with that natural gas production was up 2.4 percent.”
During the month of November, the state saw its number of producing wells increase to 17,231 from last month’s record of 17,164 wells. In November, the state produced 34,791,530 barrels of oil and 92,169,175 mcf of natural gas.
