Rumor has it...wrong

After having new flooring installed in the Watford City Civic Center and Veterans Memorial Building, rumors have been circulating around town that community members can no longer rent out the space of either spots for events. But cool your jets because there’s a good chance that whatever you may have heard in reference to that has been misconstrued.
“There are no booking changes to either the Civic Center or Veterans Memorial Building,” says Peni Peterson, Watford City city auditor.
The Civic Center can still hold rummage sales, blood drives, birthday parties, vendor shows, meetings and benefits, Peterson says.
“Food and drink is still allowed in the Civic Center and is limited in the Veterans Memorial Building,” she says.
For instance, this year, the Watford City Fireman’s Pancake Supper and  the Big Buck Contest will be held in the Veterans Memorial Building, Peterson says.
