Between the early morning hours of 2 and 7 a.m., on Sunday, April 26, the American Legion in Watford City was burglarized. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and other items from the bar’s register and safe.
According to the Watford City Police Department, the last employees at the American Legion left the building at 2 a.m. It was sometime after employees left that the burglary occurred, and there was no forced entry into the building.
“We do have some video,” said Art Walgren, Watford City chief of police. “We’re currently reviewing the videotapes that were made available to us.”
Numerous statements have been taken and follow-up is being done by the Watford City Police Department. According to Walgren, they do have some leads.
