As Roosevelt reigns as one of the most presidential outdoorsmen in American history, his legendary life held weight. And today, so does his ties to North Dakota.
With no intention to stay, Roosevelt made his arrival to North Dakota in the late 1880s. Soon, what started as a quest to kill a buffalo left him insatiably smitten for more. But it wasn’t the buffalo he was longing for. Roosevelt yearned for North Dakota’s beautiful badlands
