No injuries sustained in school bus accident

On Friday, Sept. 30, a McKenzie County School District No.1 (MCSD) school bus was involved in a single vehicle incident on the way to the first pick-up of the morning.
There were no students on the bus at the time and the driver was reported to have no injuries. There was no major damage to the bus, though it is being assessed and the total repairs are still to be determined.
The accident is still under investigation, so few details have been released to the public.
“The most important thing is that there were no students involved and no injuries that occurred,” Dr. Steve Holen, superintendent of MCSD, said.
One witness said it appeared the driver over-corrected and ended up going off the road. The bus has been confirmed to have ended up in the ditch along the side of the road. It was upright and relatively intact.
Law enforcement responded to the scene and an investigation is ongoing.
