Many changes have happened in the Long X Visitor Center over the past year, and more are planned before the tourist season begins this summer. Jessie Veeder Scofield, director of the Long X Arts Foundation, spoke with The Farmer to explain the current plans for the space.
“It will remain a visitor center, but we are expanding the floor plan and the variety of goods available. We will be expanding the Pride of Dakota offerings, the ice cream selection, the perishable selection, the book offerings, and we will also be able to offer our artist community a chance to show and more space to sell their work,” Scofield summarized.
With the closure of the Long X Liquor Store, the entire main floor of the building is ready to be incorporated into the visitor center and gift shop.
