City and county officials agree to create joint task force

Both the McKenzie County Board of County Commissioners and the Watford City City Council have agreed to move forward with a plan to implement an economic development department to focus on promoting the entire McKenzie County area.
While the details are yet to be finalized, both groups have decided to begin the process of formally creating this permanent addition to local government to specialize in the economic development of the whole community.
The proposed plan includes a joint task force with employees from both the county and city working together as one department. As it was proposed, there would be five individuals in this department.
