Carbon Dioxide sequestration said to be key to the future of North Dakota oil industry

Without the use of carbon sequestration and capture, the future of oil in North Dakota is both limited and on the decline according to Kathy Neset, of Neset Consulting.
In an interview with Scott Hennen, host of ‘What’s On Your Mind?’ (AM 1100/FM 92.5), Neset described the future of the oil and gas industry without CO2 solutions as “pretty dismal to be honest with you. Without the future of going toward carbon management through the CCS, carbon sequestration and carbon utilization and storage. If we don’t go down that road, we are at a finite decline. We’re on a way down in our oil industry. And I say that not in a scary way, I mean, in reality, the world is looking ahead at what you refer to as ‘carbon managed.’ And like it or not, this is reality. This is where the world is going. You say where is the world of oil and gas without carbon management? It is going to be on a decline.”
