Alexander Public School once again plans to open a daycare

The Alexander Public School District has once again appeared before the McKenzie County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to discuss receiving financial assistance from the county for the operational and start-up costs of a daycare.
When Alexander officials first talked to the BOCC in the beginning of May, they planned to open a daycare facility for their employees who have been affected by the chronic child care shortage in McKenzie County. The School district’s representative, Shannon Faller, Alexander principal for 6-12 grade students, explained that the chronic shortage of reliable child care had impacted the district’s ability to both hire new employees and retain the ones they have.
