Hardly a day passes without me hearing some version of this concern...“America as we know it is over.” There is no doubt that we live in challenging times. But reflecting on our history brings some important perspective. Since 1777 the United States has continuously flown the “Stars and Stripes,” symbolizing its unity and identity as a nation. It is a powerful symbol of American patriotism.
Throughout its history, the United States has faced numerous trials and tribulations, testing the resolve of its people and challenging the very fabric of the nation. From the Revolutionary War to two World Wars, the Vietnam era and beyond, America has weathered storms that have shaped its identity and strength. Let’s reflect on some of the most trying times in America since 1777, remembering the resilience that has carried the nation forward.
