Whoever said that there’s never anything to do in Watford City, obviously hasn’t been looking very hard to find something going on.
The summer has been packed with wonderful events including Homefest and the McKenzie County Fair to name just two. But for those who are looking for even more reasons to stay at home and take in the great entertainment that the city has to offer, how about Ribfest, a car show, a country western concert, and a Professional Bull Riding event?
That’s right, Watford City is really throwing out all the stops this weekend when all of those events, plus a lot more happens this weekend.
The fun starts off on Friday with the annual Best of the West Ribfest with teams cooking up over 5,000 pounds of tantalizing ribs right on Main Street. With some of the best rib cookers in McKenzie County doing their best to outdo each other, it is going to be a gastronomic eating frenzy!
In addition to the ribs, there will be a Street Fair, an antique car and truck show, live music on Main Street throughout the day, as well as games and contests for children.
Ever since it was created, Ribfest has grown to become one of Watford City’s most fun and unique events. And this year’s event promises to be even better than ever before.
But the fun doesn’t stop when the last ribs are eaten as the 2nd annual Bash on the Grass concert takes center stage Friday evening at the McKenzie County Fairgrounds. This year’s concert features Chris Cagle and Sawyer Brown and promises to be a concert that you won’t want to miss.
And then to close out the weekend’s schedule of entertainment will be the Professional Bull Riders Fire Fighter’s Challenge on Saturday evening at the Fairground’s arena.
The Fire Fighter’s Challenge will be the first PBR event that Watford City has ever hosted and will feature 55 of the nation’s top professional bull riders pitting their riding skills against some of the country’s toughest bulls.
So mark your calendars for this Friday and Saturday and plan on taking in some of the fun that Watford City has to offer.
It will be another great weekend of fun.
